Introduction:Add the hardener to your top coat and stir with a paint stick for 3 minutes. As you stir, scrape the sides so it is well blended. Let mixture sit away from the sun for 30 minutes.

An epoxy coated garage floor can take tons of abuse over a long period of time. From car fluid to tire marks to general wear and tear, your once shiny, showroom-worthy floor can end up looking dull and drab. As long as there are no deep scratches or chipping, you can cover the floor with a new coat of epoxy paint. You'll need to prepare by removing everything from the space, including any bookcases or shelving you want to paint under. Once clear, you're ready to begin the resurfacing process.

、Tape off the bottom edges of the room's walls with painter's tape. Place plastic drop cloths over any cabinets or shelving that might get paint on them.

、Run the floor maintainer fitted with a light sanding pad over the entire area of the floor. This deglosses the floor so that the epoxy paint will adhere properly.

、Sweep away any dust.

、Cover the floor with and all-purpose cleaner and use your bristle brush broom to scrub it clean. Rinse with water and let dry for 4 hours.

、Place gloves and goggles on.

、Mix part A and part B of your epoxy in separate containers -- part A is the paint and part B is the hardener. Pour part A and then part B into a clean container. Mix with a low speed drill for 3 minutes. Once mixed, set it aside for 30 minutes.

、Pour the epoxy into your paint tray and begin by painting the edges and the corner of your room with a paintbrush.

、Start at the back of the room and paint a 10-by-10 foot square using your paint roller with the extension handle. Fill in the square using smooth perpendicular strokes, making sure there are no uneven lines. Continue to work section by section until you have covered the whole floor.

、Let the epoxy dry for 12 to 24 hours.

、Repeat steps 6 through 8 for your second coat.

、Add the hardener to your top coat and stir with a paint stick for 3 minutes. As you stir, scrape the sides so it is well blended. Let mixture sit away from the sun for 30 minutes.

、Stir the top coat one more time and then repeat step 6.

、Repeat steps 7 and 8 with the top coat.
